please use the word PATR when talking about truscum, or trans medicalists
they are pathologically appropriative in that they describe something that isn’t a medical disorder as such
they are trans reactionaries in that they appose change in how we as trans people define transgender to be more inclusive of those who identify as trans
I’m a trans person. You can’t say “we as trans people” to describe how I identify myself as transgender without fundamentally ascribing how I myself identify. Or as tumblr loves to say “Speaking over me.”
Also appropriation would be us claiming to have a medical condition that currently exists and is understood to be a medical condition when we do not have the symptoms of that condition. In other words if I “identify” as deaf without being hearing impaired, that would be appropriation.
Amusingly, not experiencing symptoms of dysphoria, which is understood to be a medical condition, would in fact be appropriation of a medical condition. In other words, basing your claim to being trans on “identity” is appropriation.
